How about this: the stories of players wanting out and not signing contracts are in the press. Therefore they are eminently unbelievable. We haven't had a great pre-season. Who on earth cares? It's pre-season. It's not competitive. Last year we humiliated ourselves in South Africa, drew with Barnsley and then lost to Rangers, only just overcoming Celtic. Then we finished 5th and signed Silva, Yaya, Boateng and Kolarov. Pre-season means nothing and the players are playing badly because they know it means nothing to them. Some teams fight during pre-season. We don't.
