4 weeks tomorrow deadline day is, 4 weeks of speculation and torture!
Seems to me that watching the pre-season games so far Boyata has fallen down the pecking order behind Karim Rekik now. As for keepers I read somewhere we have resigned Gunnar Nielsen after letting him go, not sure I get that one if Eirik Johansen is going to be the 3rd choice, or indeed if we are bringing someone in!johnny crossan said:On a realistic note, it looks like all the lads from last season's squad want to stay and that wouldn't be a disaster. If Savic is sent out on loan to sharpen up and is replaced by Boyata we have room for another foreign trained signing, two if big Eirik is up to being the thrid keeper now that Taylor has gone. So two signings max, clearly no room for another striker, what are our priorities?

If it was a bit vague for it's own thread then fine, but putting in this one which all are seeing as blatant wumming tars me with the same brush.
Anyway I still think more will happen, just a feeling.
I agree with everything you say except the last bit!carlos92 said:We do need a bit more width or a deep-lying playmaker, to break down teams who are just willing to defend. A CB who will keep our main two on their toes. I am happy we are keeping our current strikers even though RvP would of been a great option to have.johnny crossan said:On a realistic note, it looks like all the lads from last season's squad want to stay and that wouldn't be a disaster. It seems that Mancini is very keen to start his summer spending even though he clearly possesses a strong squad. However he doesn’t have all that many central defensive options in his current Man City squad so perhaps a move for a new centre-back is a necessity though forking out £35m for a player who would presumably struggle to break the pairing of Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott, who last term formed perhaps the most reliable partnership in the Premier League.
Chelsea have done a fair amount of spending themselves this summer and it seems highly unlikely that Blues owner Roman Abramovich would consider selling Luiz to a Premier League rival, that said £35m is a fairly hefty offer and far in excess of the £21m the West London club pair Benfica for the Brazilian 18 months ago.
25 year old Luiz has become something of a fan’s favourite at Stamford Bridge, with the amiable defender always playing with a smile on his face and being one of the player’s who helped drive Chelsea to a Champions League triumph last term.
Luiz has notched up 53 appearances since signing for Chelsea in January 2011, securing FA Cup and Champions League winners medals along the way.
