I'm happy with that. I know the boo boys will think we should have spent 100 million, but if they think we will maintain the spending of previous seasons in the future then they are gonna be so disappointed.

#CFC have spent most (£673m - gross) in PL since Jan 03. #MCFC i2nd (£572m), #LFC 3rd (£414m) then #MUFC £352m

Anyone have any idea where we could find the spending figures since 1992?
Im sure those figures would tell a different story

Well for a start this managed to miss out the £30M United spent on Ferdinand because he signed in 2002. And their figures have been helped by the £80M they got for Ronaldo.

They are gross figures mate so the Ronaldo sale has nothing to do with them

Inflation has to be considered too...£30M is a lot for a player today but was absolutely unheard of 10 years ago.

No one has said we should have spent £100m

People just expected better than Sinclair, considering we're champs and want to do even better in the Champions league.

With Barry out, what happens if Yaya gets injured. Kompany or Lescott go out, will people still be so confident?

Having these concerns doesn't make people flappers, ungrateful or negative.

I think we'd be lying if we said these were the players we set out to sign after last season. Situations change and agents fuck us about a bit, but i think we just about have enough now to win the league again. I assume Maicon will be used in the 3 or the 5 of the 3,5,2 or as a holding midfielder when yaya goes off again. I dont think anyone (Mancini included) will be over joyed with this transfer window but we have to be realistic, and spending 100 million every year just isnt a financially viable thing to do.

We will have regressed.

De Jong and Johnson are superior to Rodwell and Sinclair.

Nastasic is superior to Savic, not seen him but has to be!

So that's 2 ngative and 1 positive. It actually weakens us as an outfit. I don't knwo what is to be happy about in that respect.

The 'boo boys' are fans that want City to build on last year and start a dynasty. Real won their league and strengthened, so did Juventus. Bayern finished runners up in CL and strengthened, Chelsea won it and did too. Then we have United across the road strengthening, Kagawa and RVP will make noise I guarantee you that.

So are all the above clubs wrong and us right?
Does being a good fan mean you have to be chuffed with signings I would expect Spurs/Liverpool to make?
Is it 'the done thing' to call questioners flappers?
Is it correct that don't strengthen on the key area of midfield that saw us struggle hugely when Yaya went to ACON.

I will be far from happy if things end like this. I will be seriously worried about our chances to keep premier league too. Peope can call me whatever the fuck you like but I tell you now it will be a damn site harder than last year.

If it is then TH deserves every shellacking he gets with all those vids and bomb speeches.

Still no new contract for Silva either, needs sorting NOW!

No TH does not deserve ANY of that

Our Targets are well known

RVP
HAZARD
DE ROSSI
JAVI MARTINEZ

Those were all bombs, nukes actually
But this is transfer business and all the top clubs were chasing what we were chasing, we did not bend over for any of the players or the agents and as for martinez our management believed he was too expensive for what he was available for.

This is how it is when you are dining at the top table
Im glad city has reached this stage that we have the same targets as English or european giants. those were all bombs and tolmie was right, the deals did not happen due to one reason or another, but we were in for the TOP players and im happy for that and opefully in future we will be in for top players and hopefully get them.

Where do people keep getting this £100m shit from. We didn't spend that last year, we signed Nasri for £24m, Clicuhy for £7m and Aguero for £35m, that's £66m!

This year we have spent £12+12+8+4, 36m that is and that's not allowing for Johnson or Adebayor either whom bring in £15m rising to £20m, so that's £21m we have spent. As champions we should be spending more than that. FFS Chelsea bought Oscar for more than that alone!

We need a CM and pronto. Nothing but world class will do if we are serious about making strides in Europe. I like Milner and Barry but they wouldn't get in many top teams and we should be adding to them rather than relying on them.

£40m offer for Balo would have been accepted, with or without Mancinis approval. Falcoa would have been bought instead. I defy anybody who thinks differently too.

Very happy with Rodwell, Sinclair and Nastastic. Like I said earlier there are very few players who are talented enough to walk straight into our first XI, the ones who are either aren't available or aren't good value for money. Signing three young players who have a tremendous amount of potential and who can be moulded into the players we want is better than signing three "finished articles" who aren't going to compliment the players we already have at the club. If we sign younger players and they don't work out then you can still claw back some of the transfer fee by selling them on and you're not lumbered with high earners sat on long contracts who can't get a new club, it makes footballing and financial sense.

We know the club was prepared to pay a big fee for RVP, Hazard and De Rossi because those players would have complimented the squad we have perfectly but their simply has to be a limit which with Hazard was the agents fees. De Rossi to my mind doesn't want to leave Roma, Roma don't want him to leave so again the only possible way of getting that deal to go through would be to throw a bucket load of cash at it which for a 29 year old with no resale value just isn't sensible, same with RVP.

Pity nobody bid that then eh. If I were as unhappy as you I'd send my season card back.
£40m was not accepted when it was bid though was it?

And where does it say Maicon bid accepted anywhere? Can't find it.

Leave me with the choice of having faith re Balo in your judgement or Mancini's. Forgive me, but I'm going with Roberto.

Tolmie was wrong. He said we were signing Silva imminently iirc. Still no ink to paper and many calls have been wide of the mark.

I understand full well the transfer market is fast moving but not a single bomb has come off.

Don't be linking players when we are enquiring, save it for when its close to being done. For fucks sakes don't be claiming ITK status when most of the calls were wrong too.

Just my bit on that, last of it from me. Just frustrated that people quote him as be and end all when he is off the mark. People moan that he isn't here but if getting hopes up from a vague video post is a highlight then people need to discover the wonders of internet porn.

Most people on here agreed that tweaking not marquee signings were required. Looks like we have that. This will put us in good stead for the next couple of windows re: FFP, should we really need top drawer reinforcements

If we lose ndj, then yes. I would expect a decent CDM to come in.
