No point we build for the future
We would be back to finding a striker in a year or 2.
I suspect Chelsea will also be looking for a new striker in a couple of years. Im doubtful Lukaku has many more years at the top, 29 by this summer.

Whilst Haaland and Vlahovic would last slightly longer than Lewandowski I think we’ve all been spoiled by Sergio’s 10 years. Vast majority will not commit that long, so if you can get 2/3 good years for the right price its still a good option.

Many of our "chances" would not be converted who-ever we sign. Ten sometimes eleven plus three or four of our players , a forest of limbs moving randomly, at speed makes luck the major factor. The missed chances are distributed similar to our goal-scorers, random. False-nine is a glib description, more catchy than " total football", or "fluid interchanging with high press". Pep and co have to be confident that anyone we sign is capable of playing multiple roles. Our "pursuit" of Kane confused the issue for me, but now, it's only his age and the "jack-pot" that Haaland seems to offer are the only objections i now have.......same with Lewa...

Nothing wrong with that. Other 'options' will develop and progress all around the world over the next year of two, maybe even in our own academy. Building for the future doesn't mean ignoring the present. Lewandowski would be a monster at City - I'd have him for a year or two in a heartbeat.

Feels like this thread really will be a dud. Not really any kind of concrete news to suggest we’ll be doing any first team business (inbound…) this window.

Realistically what can we expect on the signing front next summer?. I think we'll only sign a striker and leave the Fern replacement until the following summer. The left back situation might be considered with Mendy I'd expect definitely gone, but Zin can do a good job there. So just one signing I think and if that's Haaland then fucking job done

We won't be doing any business mate, we only do if we're pretty desperate. Laporte was the exception to the rule, as we were desperate for a centre half at that point
