Agreed but I could see us losing a few first teamers this summer and probably a load of fringe players again that bring in transfer fees and frees up wages.

It's not even about gabby, it's that 65m quid is an insane amount and it's been a while since we fleeced a team. Like or hate gabby in no world is he worth that today

Our squad is already very light in numbers at the moment, we have a very small squad and been somewhat fortunate with injuries (touch wood). I don’t really see anywhere we can trim further without replacement.
The only ones likely open for debate are:
Sterling (contract situation and if we have a buyer?)
Fernandinho (but consensus is he’s good for the squad)
Jesus (contract running down and not being utilised as much as he should)
Laporte (ideally he will stay but might be tempted by Barca or Madrid)
Mendy (Probably be in jail and hopefully contract terminated, I don’t count him in our squad anymore anyway)
If we lose any of those players (Mendy and Fernandinho aside) we need serious investment in those positions

It's not about him leaving it's about the attitude towards one of our current players, who has helped make club history ( no Jesus = no centurions) by some posters on here. He has earned his respect.
