It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

With Cucu news cooling down who would you prefer him or Raum, for me Raum is better up front but would not be that good defensively kinda like TAA, but Cucu seems the more complete player of the two overall, it’s actually hard to decide, for me it would be Cucu but also wouldn’t mind if Raum was the one to join us instead. I wonder what everyone else take on this??
I think the fb we buy needs to be a competent defender first. We lose balance when walker isnt playing as we end up with 2 attack minded full backs and not enough dcm cover.

Cancelo-walker
Zinchenko-walker
These have been our best combos over recent years and in my opinion because walker sits in to provide defensive cover.
Without walker at end of last season we were too open. Another defensive fb can also do that job and let cancelo go and create

You counted the 442 then?:(
I've seen him play left and right midfield kinda like Silva/Nasri did for us, in the 442 shape.

Starting in the midfield line but drifting in possession. Technically excellent, pretty sure we could put him in anywhere in the opposition half and he'd be fine .

Typical reporting.... States 45m in the headline

But in the report says 45m+ 10m in add ons

Sterling gives Chelsea a change in dynamic to their attack, with a deal understood to be £45m with a potential of £10m in add-ons.

I really don’t care anymore, and even other teams fans don’t seem to buy the City spend more than us and that’s why they win more trophies bull-crap anymore, everyone and their mothers spends these days and it’s a fact that we’re doing better business than 99% of teams in the world at the moment, we got Phillips 10-15 million cheaper than what others would’ve paid for him, we’re selling academy players with zero PL minutes for more than others get for their established squad players I’m pretty happy with the way the team has been doing business recently not caving and selling our players on the cheap anymore and not over paying and moving to other targets if needed. That’s why I don’t mind if we move from Cucu to Raum if Brighton try to rob us just to make others understand that this kind of shit doesn’t work anymore.

I didn't care in the first place, 99% would kill to be in our position. It's what I dreamed of as a kid but thought there was zero chance. Chelsea by the way, just wasted 100 million on one of the worst strikers I've ever seen at a top club, no real mention of it. Still don't care

Hey remember when Delaney said we'd be signing Phillips for £60m

Ya fair, that image will never shed away...

Someone said Chelsea spent 100m on a striker and they sent him back on loan to the club they paid 100m for. They don't care

I should really try hard to not care about the fee. Knowing my nature, will take a bit of time! :-)

Well apparently Leeds were initially asking for £65m+.

Can't believe there are people who criticise Txiki year in, year out.
Txiki comes across as a really nice guy - great with new players & very amenable. He’s done a great job & is a huge asset for City. The people on here who think we should pay less for new players but demand more for outgoing lads have no idea

Good money for him. We will become a lot more clinical in attack this upcoming season. It’s been my view for years so I’m pleased with this. I’m thankful for all he has done but he peaked 17/18 and since then he’s been a ghost.

Now get Cucurella!
