It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Hmm what exactly is a Bert?

I've seen a lot of you say that like "going full bert mode" but I don't get it.. can someone explain please
Bertie Magoo the Bitter Blue. A cartoon character created by a Manchester Un*ted fanzine portraying the stereotypical City fans through the eyes of a red. Supposedly, that stereotype is moody, bitter and Mancunian.

Bertie is a middle-aged man and said to speak with a strong Mancunian accent. He is depicted with a blue nose that says ‘loser’ on it and wearing a t-shirt inscribed with the words ‘Bell better than Best’.

It is interesting that Un*ted fans wish to ridicule the Mancunian accent and, aside from the ‘loser’ label, Bertie seems like an alright bloke.

Every City fan I know is anything but bitter and could not stand to be anything like Un*ted. Let’s allow them their fun on this occasion as they haven’t got a lot else to shout about.

Yeah, I could see that. You'd lose a fair bit of experience in the team then if you were to do that, mind you Foden, Halaand, Palmer, Saka, Bellingham, Alvarez might make the top of the pitch a bit kid heavy perhaps?

Yeah I appreciate everyone's opinion, they won't have seen more of Saka than me but what they have seen they might not have been impressed with which is fair enough.

I just wanted to emphasise to them that he's doing these things as a 20 year old kid. Think not only about how he is now, but how he could be, especially under a coach like Pep. I'd love it if yourselves & Liverpool stayed away lol.
By all accounts Saka isn't on our radar anyway (I personally like him), but Foden can genuinely play anywhere along the front or middle ground. Bellingham definitely plays deeper and I suspect in time we might see that Palmer can play multiple positions.
