That’s not how we work though.

Maybe Pep saying what he said was in fact confirmation that he knows Bernie wants to go? However, he was also saying that a deal can be done but only at the right price. Knowing that Barca are skint, he thinks it’s unlikely.

It's been explained elsewhere that they'd need to generate 4x Bernardo's fee - with Woodward gone, I don't think United would pay that much for De Jong...

The lad owes us nothing.
Been an absolute bargain and model professional.
I was hoping he would stay on and get his coaching badges.
I’m sure he would make a decent coach/manager one day

He didn't say that though. That's what you have read into what he has said. It is close, closer than other readings into it, but isn't the same. Pretty normal comment, yet enough there to encourage both intetest and speculation, and make sure his club is listening too.

The new incoming ffp am not sure where we stand so think it’s better to recoup as much as possible.

These made up tweets usually surface a few days before a big game. Maybe they are getting them in early before the announcement of Erling.
