In any case, I hope our priority target is not Salisu; replacing Ake with him is a downgrade.

Why not he would of been reasonable and still young enough to develop further. However he is more important to Southampton than he is to us so would of been too expensive

Not read anything to that effect tbh. I can’t see them selling Van Dijk, Matip or Konate and Gomez signed a new five year deal only last week. They might shift a fifth, sixth or seventh choice CB like Phillips, Rhys Williams or Ben Davies?

Come on, how much "competing for the starting line up" has Ake done exactly in 2 years here? I feel like people forgot he was basically non-playable for a year and a half. Every time he played we'd concede a goal on him. Then he finally kicked on near the end of this season and changed people's memories - and still hardly competed for a starting line up.

But that's the point: if we're going to sell Ake, we'll buy someone better than him (at least in terms of potential)
