It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Lillo leaving, Jesus going, Bernie's private situation, all these aren't surprises.

I was told Mendes was offering all manner of things to us and it's no surprise a few deals haven't gone through elsewhere yet.

If Bernie does leave, we won't be messing about for long.

Keep an eye on Bellingham.
I would love that to happen this summer but I doubt Dortmund are going to sell this time around without a replacement lined up; no real signs of that happening.

Depends if they HAVE to, which they dont right now. I'm sure they could/would

Sabitzer is being offloaded by Munich that would make sense.

I did like Ahsan's argument for Salah coming in if Mahrez wants to go, and gives Palmer that extra time to bleed in.

Salah being a couple of years younger than Mahrez. Cant see it, especially with Mahrez not looking to move at all it seems.

If it’s even on the table, which I find hard to believe, signing Salah will bring a lot of political heat to the club - maybe enough to think twice.

The crying about the PL becoming the Bundesliga and poor little Liverpool not being able to compete will increase 100x.

Pretty much the only argument against is that city don’t sign their direct rivals best players.

Demand for investigations and complaints and media animosity will go through the roof. Remember how bitter they were about losing Sterling to us in 2015? That will be a raindrop compared to the monsoon poaching Salah would be.

Now some posters will say “who gives a fuck” and that’s fine, but I would suggest that actually people on here do care a lot about the perception of the club hence the multi-thousand page threads on such topics.

I don’t think people at the club enjoy the media campaigns, investigations and political attacks that the club comes under either - and that includes Pep.

I simply don’t think we need him to win, so I don’t think it would be worth the backlash.

I love Bellingham and he has huge potential but for now and likely the next couple of years he would be a massive downgrade on a prime Bernardo.
Not sure if I'd say massive, but of course Bernardo is the more advanced player at this stage...for me BS is a top 5 MF in the world...OK, I'll get personal...of all my City stuff the only thing I have with a player's name on it is my dark blue, third kit jersey with Bernardo 20 on its back...now everyone knows where I stand, lol...that said, if we have to let him go we do need to make a serious signing the likes of Bellingham, Nkunku, Barella, etc...Bernardo can't be replaced with a half assed signing...just keep him here and we're good!!!

Being taught by pep for a couple of years can have a stratospheric elevating of one's reputation in the coaching world.
Piss easy to be head coach elsewhere.
Look at Arteta.
And who wouldn't take that chance to see if you could do it. I would work for Pep for free for 5 years to be given that opportunity.

Can respond to that with a sceptical view really

Firstly, they don’t work for free,I’m pretty sure they’ll be well paid in doing a job we all love, just that some are privileged

As for where they go next, well with all due respect I don’t see much difference between Arsenal and Al Sadd, both fucking crap,so yea I am looking at Arteta.

Could being the key word in your comment
