I find support City during the summer window a big rollercoaster of emotions. Most of the time we have come off winning the league having had a great season, optimism is high, yet all of a sudden there is a fear that our squad is left short cos all our players want to leave and we go into the new season worrying about what might happen. Then it turns out Pep and Txiki knew exactly what they doing all along and we were once again successful!!
I, yet again, have fallen into the trap of worrying about our squad. Disclosure, i did think we were short of a couple of positions last year but that all worked out okay.
As our squad stands today, i think we need another full back and a defensive midfielder. I personally would not let anyone leave (if we had a choice) as we need the numbers to go for 4 trophies. If we were to lose Sterling and Jesus i think it leaves us another 2 players short.
I also think it is interesting what will happen to Delap, McAtee, Lavia, Mbete, etc. We need to fill a bench with 9 players our squad is not the biggest so there was always 3/4 young kids named and the inexplicable 2 keepers named. If we let our best crop of youngsters out on loan which i am not against it will mean we will be naming even less proven players on the bench.
