Sosa is a Croatian. I cant believe that, we should get him for UCL
 
Borna Sosa could be a lot cheaper deal and with VfB Stuttgart not being in any European Competition and narrowly missing out on relegation could be an easier one as well.
 
There's easy ways to tweak around not having Cucurella.

1. Pep's go to is just play Cancelo LB, but I hope he plays Foden LW rather than Grealish, because Grealish with Cancelo makes no sense.

2. Could go with a sort of 352, and just play Foden as a LW/LWB stretching the pitch on his natural left foot, swinging crosses into Haaland and Alvarez.

3. Could play Ake as a defensive LB and tilt over to the right side (rather than left), which lets Cancelo at RB play more as a RWB. I personally really like this idea, as we typically always tilt left and let the RW handle 1v1s. Let's switch it, tilt right and let the LW handle 1v1s (Phil or Grealish). This can be kind of similar to 2) above.

4. Play JWE, I personally think this kid is going to be a massive success, he just has to stay fit. Just needs to be a rotation option for us, has alot to learn, but what he can offer in attack is potentially Davies level.


So I'm not that worried, still think selling Zinchenko and not securing Cucurella is pretty stupid, but I think that's 4 viable ways to still manage setting up our side.

Market for LBs is pretty shit.

Just buying any LB is very short sighted, and is more likely to make us play worse.

Why not use what we already have in better ways (or adapt what we have already been doing).

The only name I've seen is Borna Sosa, yet equally there are all these comments about suspect he is.

This is Manchester City, we don't just buy a LB just because, we would only buy somebody whose up there as a top LB (Cucurella was touted as this). There is no point going for anybody.
 
Bernardo is one player we just cannot replace right away no matter who comes in, they're all downgrades, including Frenkie (not that we'll get him obviously).
 
I would think that we're done in the transfer market this summer.

Very rare that we move on to a plan B in the same window?

The club tries to be too clever sometimes. Extra 10m and the left back position would have been solved.

No doubt we'll fill the slot with centre backs and midfielders and for 90% of the time it will work but will bite us in the arse at the business end of the season.
