So if Zack is 2nd choice, Ortega wouldn’t come and if he was 3rd choice, he would leave.

This tallies with what I suggested that Ortega coming makes no sense unless Steffan isn’t here next season.

I doubt the club would be going through the hassle of finding an out of contract keeper that can cone in for free to be second choice, just to make some 10-15m on Steffen. I know it all adds up, but money ain't that tight.

If this is happening either Steffen himself fancies a move and more playing time, or pep and the club think they need a better No.2. Steffen is also only 2 years younger than Stefan.

I don't disagree with any of that. city want 3 good GKs. Steffan would be third choice, he can go if he does not like that but city would preferably like to keep both. I suspect this stance is just a business negotiating tactic.
