Why do we have a problem understanding the concept of ageing.
KDB, Gundy and Walker all in their 30's.
Dinho gone.
No left back and no attempt since Mendy to even buy one.
The dippers are on our tail, but shouldn't be if we didn't keep playing our key players into the ground and actually bought players we needed.
£100 million for Grealish, let that figure sink in.
With hindsight, it was unfair to use the term, 'ignorance'. Perhaps like you, I was, and continue to be, horrified at the £100m price tag. What I was trying to stress - albeit a bit clumsily - is that, irrespective of that, it's not helpful for some to be writing the lad off as a busted flush. As one of ours, we have to hope he pushes on and goes at least some way to justifying the fee. As I freely admitted, my faith may be misplaced and it doesn't happen. Regardless, let's take a view next season by which time it's hoped our play will have adapted to suit an orthodox striker and his contribution improves as a consequence. If Grealish is still failing to meet expectations then, I'll be first in the queue to suggest we move him on.
