It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

If we sign Neymar, Salah or any other player in that ilk. Rival fans will go into full meltdown, they are already complaining and calling the prem ligue 1 and the bundesliga from our business already.

Long may it continue! Lewandowski as back up to Haaland would be nice, and Neymar if Sterling goes.

It's a decent fee no doubt but when everything coming out was holding firm for £50m it's disappointing to see it less than that.

I thought this would be the transfer we wouldn't buckle on given his quality, regardless of the contract situation.
Like the Stock Exchange where the best players and therefore profitable on that money machine play, we will get a reputation for always selling our stock too cheaply.

Exactly what happens if you want to be a regular seller and buyer with any commodity.

Do you really think those bitter bastards would ever forgive Sterling for having the temerity to leave for a more successful club and the prospect of honours?
I know a few red dippers who are normally very well balanced in life in general, but all common sense and logic goes out of the window when Raheem is mentioned, Judas, money grabbing twat etc etc, they fuckin hate him with a passion (and I know the real reasons why, ie as per your comment).
I’d be absolutely gobsmacked if he ended up back there in any capacity.

Can I just point out that who ever we sign above and beyond now - when we look back on this window the BIG signing is Haaland.

With Alverez who I think is under estimated to date, it’s a great window already.

Phillips incoming plus coco the clown if the price is right.

With gabby (sadly) out for what seems like a good fee, There does seem to be some additional fund raising going on though too doesn’t there :-)
I recall you saying this the other day
Not a big name but a real strengthening in defence, really spurious outside chance event that I had thought gone away but keep reappearing in conversations - not sure why.
Makes we wonder if we're trying to negotiate Sterling + cash for James. Right back would be the only defensive position where we'd need to strengthen.

Yeah Gabi is 5 years younger mate. And Brazil's no.9.

Not complaining about the reported fee, just saying, he Should cost a fair bit more than Mane, Liverpool got a good deal there.
They got 15.5 million for that bag of shit Minamino who's done nothing at the Dippers.

Phillips fee is probably £10-15 million too high imo. The extra is unlikely to kill us though. Adds the depth we need in that area and although he's not exactly lightening quick he has more mobility than Rodri which the alternative to him had to have. Let's hope he is never as bad for us as he was in an England shirt against Hungary as that was a shitshow.
Let's get a few things straight.
On balance, most believe that City secured Phillips's signing for a very reasonable fee. Secondly, he might not be 'lightening (sic) quick' but then neither was Fernandinho, the player whose position he is most likely to fill. I'd hope you agree that Ferna's signing didn't turn out too badly. Finally, no England player covered themselves in glory against Hungary. Are you really going to judge a player on that performance and ignore what has been a very promising international career to that point?

I think Salah is the wrong type player if we’re going full on inverted winger next season. If this is our plan it’s better to move Foden to rw and buy a right footed lw (Neymar!).
