Random but looking at some of the young prospective players in the world, Pep’s handling of Foden and some of the young blues makes sense. Ansu Fati for instance, hailed as a future star has had some really horrific injuries. Not saying all of them playing a lot from a really young age will suffer bad injuries but it seems that managing their game time will help with mitigating these injuries.

I think overplaying them at very young age at senior level will cost them alot in term of injury which is very bad for their development, there is reason Phil is not playing that much in Ansu age back then.
 

Surely he doesn’t stay another season. His legs are gone. He’s a legend and has been a great servant to the club but his time is up.
