It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Agreed.

I can think of Cancelo, Bernardo and Mahrez just off the top of my head, who were all bobbins in their first season.

Jack is class and will show it next season.
I don't think bobbins is fair. Much like Grealish they were all underwhelming but still better than we gave them credit for at the time.

Although I do agree with your point overall.

listen you brought forward a fair list of arguments, but let's be real they are all excuses. you can use these arguments to excuse a player basically giving 1/10 every game of a season as much as you can use them to excuses a player giving 5/10s every game. like i said, jack's season has been levels below riyad, joao, rodro and ferran's first seasons. and for the price tag it's a huge disappointment. and if you can't see why a bigger price tag means its a bigger disappointment, it directly stems from the fact the club's budget is limited.

nothing against jack but observations about his season have to be truthful even if we don't like it
In fairness I'm not saying this would work over the next 5 years...I'm saying I expect him to get to the level we need him to be regarding his number...Rodri and Joao were big ticket guys who looked lost here in year one...I can't say Grealish has been levels below those guys...you're making him sound like Mendy, lol...Its not a matter of making excuses but more of looking for reasons as to why he hasn't got off to a flying start..to me its obvious he's deferring to others and being tentative...its mainly what I see as the biggest issue...Also, might be better suited in an attacking midfield role for us...I'm going to stick to my opinion that its too early to draw a conclusion...

Grealish isn't sticking out because of how well others are playing he's never gonna stand out in our team like he did at villa. Yes he's not at his 100% best but he's giving 100% every time is picked and if pep didn't think he wasn't or he's not good enough to be played in certain games he wouldn't be picked. I feel a few on here are influenced by what they read in the media rather than what they see on the pitch.

No idea all I read was Abramovich is aiming for a total of £2.5bn to be donated to charity, while an additional £1.5bn is invested in Chelsea so maybe the 1.5b is for like a new stadium and players.
I don’t think Roman, will be giving £2.5bn to charity. He said he would donate any profits from the proceeds of selling the club.
Which to me, reads as, after all the money owed to him (his holdings) is paid plus legal fees, what’s left will be given to charity!
He hasn’t had his money or asset’s confiscated only frozen, so at some point, it may be releasted back to him.

I’m surprised that the government haven’t made Dido Harding their interim chairman to syphon off the profits.

I think he retains possession well and he’s obviously not playing is natural game. But to take it to the next level, I really think he needs to stay on his feet when the opposition fouls him (whenever possible). We know he gets fouled a lot but going down every time there is contact seems to ruin the fluidity and momentum we try to build up in our attacking play. At the moment he’s just going down every time and it’s really slowing us down (even though he won us a free kick for our opening goal against Leeds).

He also needs to be more clinical in front of goal and I think he will be next season. Too many tame efforts in front of goal at the moment.

Don't need Mount when Foden and Grealish can play the attacking 8.

And we have another one of our own to develop in James McAtee, he can surpass Mount.
McAtee looks very special....he has more of an eye for goal than foden does as well from what Ive seen

Fkn hell another Grealish thread. So many people trying to convince themselves that he isn't ctap it is spilling into every thread. Who are you guys trying to convince? Yourselves by the sound of it. Keep it in the rehash Freakish thread. Not sure why you would discuss it in the current Transfer form.
