It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Don't think it means any of them things, just think we've decided it's the best way forward for adademy product development, and generating general income.
And hasn't the PL2 age limit been reduced from 23 to 21, so it's sensible to reduce the bottleneck for players leaving the academy.

According to pol on the athletic podcast the haaland deal ate into a lot of our budget for the summer and as a result we will operate with a one in one out scenario.

Makes sense why we closed the deal with Leeds the same time we agreed the fee with Arsenal for Jesus. I would imagine once Sterling is sold we will then begin talking to Brighton to try and get cucurella. I expect that to be the last major moves for this window

Yeah I know it was 51m but we did have to pay another 40m I think to agent and his dad

Why don’t we go and get Dembele from Barca? He’ll be a free transfer and by the looks of it is getting over is his injury woes. He’d be the perfect Sterling replacement and future Mahrez replacement as well.
Don’t think he fits the type of character the club typically go after

I haven't read the last 20 or 30 pages.

To me, the sales today mean one or two things.

1. Have we sailed too close in the FFP wind buying Grealish, Alvarez, Haaland Phillips, and a bollock has been dropped?

2. (More likely) We're going after the Iron in the Fire that @tolmie's hairdoo mentioned and we're giving up some talent to get funds for negotiating wriggle room?

Bellingham being bought this summer, and loaned back to Dortmund for the season???
Sensible sales for players nearing the end of contract or players the club no longer wants.

Great clubs don't sh1t on players when they are not required, they just move them on quietly and without fuss.

Pep is staying long term, this squad has been together and through a lot the last few seasons, a good refresh will do wonders.

I would expect to replace Sterling and Ake if he leaves as well as the expected signing of a LB, if so that's an incredible summer window.

because the lad is made of glass and a walking sicknote, he will probably break his hand picking up the pen to sign a contract
