Surely by definition there’s at least one and probably more in each generation?I don't mind they phrase but it's applied horrendously. Every decent teenager or club's greatest player is deemed "generational".
Bellingham is not generational. Enzo Fernandez is not generational.
Mbappé and Haaland might be, but not quite yet.
I'd say there have probably been less than 10 generational players in the history of the sport.
Di Stefano, Puskás, Pelé, Cruyff, Maradona, Ronaldo, Messi - possibly Beckenbauer, possibly Yashin.
