Sterling gives Guardiola greater options as he’s far more versatile and he’s just about to come into his prime. Mahrez is now heading into the last year of his contract, turns 32 in February, and it looks as if we’re evolving into a team that will be less intent on suffocating teams and more intent on playing and running them off the park. Extending Sterling and waiting to see with Mahrez makes sense to me.I don't see any available wingers capable of replacing Sterling's ability to create space for other attackers, he's pretty unique in this regard. And Haaland will definitely need these holes to sprint into.
I think we'll be far less dependant on Raz' finishing and might let him focus on his strongest qualities - dribbling, moving oppo's defenders and pressing work
