Sooner or later they need a chance to step up or what's the point of the academy.

They've (H-B and Doyle) been on loan at lower league teams so the club should know if they're ready to be part of the squad. They'd be training everyday with the best team in England, so hopefully they would be ready if needed.

You say Ake isn't 4th choice, but bar injuries he is.
He was a regular at Bournemouth and you'd think with the World Cup coming up that he'd want to be playing every week again. But with us if everyone was fit, Ake would not start ahead of Dias, Stones or Laporte, in the majority of games, especially in the league and champions league.

That is all true. Yet I doubt he will move. If he does, because he wants to, willing to bet he will be replaced with an equally capable player and not by a kid. We wil always have 4 CBs for 2 positions, kids with potential will be on top of that.
