It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

not just the fee but the wages saved and can be invested as well? I dont see next season being any different for sterling to be honest and i just think his time here has come to an end? His performances were pretty average last season for the majority of things and it does seem that behind the scenes pep doesnt have the faith in him he used to. I do hope though if sterling and jesus leave we would go and get someone in?
Got to agree with this

We probably don't want to sell him to Chelsea but it does seem that for all parties, a sale this summer is preference

Sterling has been far from bad, but his performances for the last two seasons haven't been as good as they have in the past

Think he needs a new club, he has been with us for 7 very successful years, he's 27 so still in his prime but given how early he started playing he seems a bit burnt out

Hes well and truely paid back the £49mil we spent on him, and given he has been here 7 years that £49mil will be fuck all in terms of the amortization cost.....we selling him now it'll be for almost entirely profit

And those wages, he just hasn't been justifying them....selling him alone basically covers 90% of Haalands wages

Do think we'll miss him once he's gone...but I think it's for the best

ya losing both would be a bit of a blow - which could be softened by getting decent monies for them - £110m ( 50m for Jesus and 60m for Raz)

Wouldn't want them staying in the league but as Tolmie said - decent transfer fees comes from the Premier league.

Jesus is the bargain of the window, outside of us signing Haaland for £51.4m.

£50m for Jesus?

His age, his lower wages, his winning pedigree, his talent, his first-class attitude, a Brazil international?

And he can walk on water!!

If City were trying to sign him I would be excited and the price would be £75m.
12 months left on deal, always a shitter unfortunately.

Where is his transfer up to? Seems to have gone a bit quiet…

very good post mate, just think he`s gone stale now and if we could get say Nkunku in as a replacement for a refresh and thank raz for his contribution to our huge success over recent years.

So why are clubs still not bid what we want or as near to the €60m we want? It’s weird strikers are so hard to get right now you’d thought the fee would be slapped on our table

Maybe if Sterling moves he may decide to stay.
Our hardest worker.

Think we'd need to go into the market if both Sterling and Jesus left. Think we'd be fine if 1 left but 2 would be a blow.

I honestly think Sterling will perform better next season with a striker. He can get to the byline and start putting in crosses for a target again like he used to do.

Because it’s us, everyone knows we respect wishes of players who’ve served us well.

We will get the £50mil though, imo, Arse will surely buckle.

Yea you'd think so

Do think I saw Alvarez has played RW before

But options would be

Foden/Grealish for LW
Mahrez for RW (Alvarez/Bernardo/Foden backup)

We do appear to be a winger short, maybe it's time for a EDS player to step up, Palmer needs more minutes and he's most comfortable at RW then there is also Edozie or Kayky

But you'd imagine the club would target someone

Yeah, agree.

I expect Palmer will play more games to be fair but he's still young and will be drip fed (like Foden was a few years back) rather than become a key player at this stage.

Wish they'd hurry up. As sad as it is to lose him now it would be even more of a tragedy to get nothing for him. With Tebas the Fucktard on the warpath I'd rather have money on the books to show we are in more than a healthy situation. Same for Sterling.

Hurry up Chelsea and Arsenal

Chelsea continue to pursue a possible deal for Sterling this summer.

Perhaps they are receiving encouragement. Strange.

Makes perfect sense, Chelsea need a marquee signing under this new owner, Sterling is that multiple prem winner english International.
