It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

We can never know whether we could buy somebody better for less as we can can never know what would happen with those we don’t buy, simply because we don’t have all the information you would need.
The clubs requirements, the coaches requirements, the players wishes or demands, the players personality, the competing clubs offers.
We can have opinions but we can’t know what the club knows. That doesn’t mean they can’t get it wrong we’re dealing with people not robots, but they are far less likely to be wrong than any of us.
I don’t disagree with the majority of what you said, but I think it’s implied that our opinions here come from personal observations and the research that is at our disposal, for those who bother with it.
The only thing I will disagree is with the first sentence you poster. As good a player as Grealish is, and as good as he may turn out, I struggle to believe we couldn’t have found a better player and fit for 100 million pounds. We overpaid and now have to hope for the best, definitely, but that doesn’t exclude that it could have been different and better.

Obviously the City management disagreed with your opinion about the fit and the fee.

People do realize that Phillips and Cucurella are the ones that Pep wants right? I mean within reason of quality and price etc? There will have been discussions, quality reports etc and the decisions will have been Phillips and Cucurella. Both mentioned early on by Jack Gaughan, Pol etc
Have you heard this officially?

“The ones”, really? So assuming we can’t one of them or both, if they really are the targets, the club won’t have other options and alternatives? Which professional club operates this way? We know Ruben Dias wasn’t the number one target, and as everyone who wants to shut down any discussion around here “look at his thread back then!” will say, he worked…

Do you know this for sure? Do you know it was unanimous inside the club that Grealish was worth 100 million pounds? Or maybe we wanted to please the manager, or make a big signing whatever the cost, or believed the commercial returns he would bring etc?

A reminder that Maxwell Cornet (25) has a relegation clause of 15M. He scored 9 goals in 20 appearances for Burnley. He is left footed and can play in the right wing
What a combination. Cornet and Mr Whippy. A marriage made in heaven!
Would he have the number 99?
