It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

50m is quickly creeping towards the norm for a decent player.Besides,we have quite a kitty....and with the relative bargain prices we are paying elsewhere, this fee can easily be offset.

So if 50m is becoming the norm for a decent player Harry Maguire will represent value for money by the mid 2070’s.

It’s not the end of it for me, though. I have no problem discussing and questioning. And getting a transfer wrong is all debatable. We can sign someone and they work, but it doesn’t mean we couldn’t have signed someone better for less, or that another club didn’t sign someone as good or better for less. Our club’s operations aren’t criticism-proof

That‘s a bit of a recipe for a hypothetical argument though is it not? Comparing someone we did sign with someone we could have signed is incredibly subjective. We signed Grealish but could have signed Sancho for less - but given the huge difference in quality and style between the Rags and us - how would you go about making an assessment ? Would Sancho have performed any better for us than he has for the Rags ? And how would that compare to Jacks performance at the parade?
