Surely he doesn’t stay another season. His legs are gone. He’s a legend and has been a great servant to the club but his time is up.

I don’t think it’s to do with what he does on the pitch. He’s a leader off the pitch the players respect him a lot, im guessing Pep doesn’t want to lose that from the locker room.

I think we may need him to leave and let other players step up and into the leadership void so the team stays fresh
If youre not contributing to the level you once did you can only be a positive influence for so long
No doubt KDB or Dias want to stake a claim to be the full time captain too

Coz folk see what they want to see. Years and years ago a good mate (still is) punched me hard in the face when I pissed myself laughing when he told me a tale about Shearer signing for his team - the scum and not the barcodes.
My mate who did actually work on Trafford Park said that he knew that a box of replica shirts with Shearers name on the back had fallen off the lorry delivering them to the swamp and burst open In front of a herd of highly reliable young zebras. One of the zebras had told him in strict confidence.
