€100m for Nunez to Liverpool - how can we compete with that? Klopp is truly a miracle worker and his now *checks notes* £600m squad might stand a fighting chance of catching City.

Sorry, replacing Mane with this guy is jokes. There’s a good player in there but he’s not even as a good as Jesus. Watch his YouTube compilation and he looks better average. Lukaku type goals - 3rd and 4th in 5-0 wins.

Klopp must see something in him to sign him but to say they’re overpaying is an understatement and a half.

Klopp has a history of overpaying for players who play well against his team. Doubt he has seen a single minute of that guy outside the Pool-Benfica game.

Sometimes works out but only a matter of time before this approach stumbles onto a massive flop.

Not sure he flops entirely but he ain’t proving as pivotal as Mane or scoring as much anytime soon.

Think all three parties just want it done.

Should be noted that I think City briefed over the past couple of days they wanted 40-45 for Jesus

Principal 1 of all negotiations in any industry, No one leaves a negotiation happy, you either leave pissed off or more pissed off

Think we'd settle for £40 million plus maybe a bit extra in add-ons. It gives Gabby his move and funds Cucerella for us. Decent deal for all parties.

I wouldn't be shocked if we have lowered our price but I would be fucked right off
I get that but him being out of contract next year kind of forces our hand. Selling a player who wants to leave, that cost us 27m and gave us such good service, for 43m is a decent bit of business given who we have signed ourselves.

Maybe Jesus has said he wants Arsenal and we are trying our best to help him. To be honest I hope Jesus gets the move he wants, what we get as long as the club are satisfied I really couldn’t care less.

In my opinion we should be putting the interests of the club ahead of giving individual players what they want. That extra £20m or so would be pretty useful.

Top strikers are going for £70m plus these days, Jesus is number 9 for the champions. If Chelsea or Spurs were selling him they’d be asking for nearly £100m.

Whatever the fee, it goes down as a big juicy profit on the books if I understand it correctly and I would imagine we would rather get the cash in the bank and use it for other signings rather than piss about all summer with Arse and Chelsea trying to do wait us out.

We aren't getting a penny over 50 odd, that is very clear so now the real questions is where does he go. Id be shocked if we sell him to Chelsea. Anyone else isn't a threat.

Player value goes out the window when they have 12 months left. You either get what you can for them or they run down their contract and collect a juicy sign on bonus when they join their next club. I'll take us receiving something for him over nothing.

The club will put the interests of the club first. Those interests in the clubs opinion may not align with yours. I trust the club enough not to need to worry about it.

How can darwin nunez, a player with potential from Portuguese league get 100M while a PL proven striker is struggling for 60M

Jesus already earns way more than someone playing in Portugal. The outlay would be much more expensive as someone at Jesus' age is only going to want a higher salary than what he's already on. I reckon when you add in the salaries, Jesus will cost Arsenal more than Darwin will cost Liverpool.

Same reason we got Haaland for £51 mill. Different players, different markets different circumstances, different personal demands.
Signings aren’t directly comparable.
My question is, why are people so invested in it, as long as the club are happy. Unless you think the club are reckless with our finances.
