Not having striker is in no way a contributory factor either.

Strangley enough that's what I thought of Walker before we signed him. Thought Walker was a right sided Clichy

What barca fans and barca seem to forget is Bernardo Silva has years left on his contract and he is hugely professional. They aren't going to get him for peanuts. They seem to think they have this magical sway that'll make clubs drop their pants and get shafted on the fee.

Simple facts are we will let players go if they aren't happy but not for less than they're worth. They want him then they can find £80mil. They can find it, fine he'll get his head down and get cracking for the season ahead.

Occasionally we need fullbacks that can actually defend, like against Madrid for instance.

If we get Cucurella and and somehow get Reece James, we’d have an attacking and defensive option for both positions.

Walker is twice the defender James is. I don't rate him at all but I think I'm in the minority there.

Walker is a cheat code defensively. When he retires, we cannot replace him like for like.

I think we have bet heavy on Cancelo, Couto, Kabore and so forth. One of these will take the starting RB spot.

James would be very expensive, which is a negative. He’s pretty young though and has time to improve.

I‘d still like us to have a defensive and an offensive full back for each side. It balances our squad much better.

Dunno why everyone ignores Bernardo in the winger discussion. I could see him playing a ton of RW if Palmer is injured or not up to it. Would be a way to keep cycling Gundogan in as well if he is fit and stays

Been linked before. Would improve the defence. Surprise as all the links are to cucurella.
Ticks all the boxes.
Plus I don't think it's a right back as he said it would improve us defensively and walker is the best rb in the world so nobody would improve us in that side from a first 11 point of view.

Not a big name but a real strengthening in defence, really spurious outside chance event that I had thought gone away but keep reappearing in conversations - not sure why.

I don't think they have any defenders that are an upgrade on what we have, that includes James, who i like but we have Walker and Cancelo and are looking at buying a LB.
So the only person who i think would strengthen our defence, is their GK Mendy.
