It's so weird isn't it. :-)And here is us cosying up to them and playing a friendly in a few weeks time.
Good God our squad seems a bit short on numbers again
I think we are one down on last season from what I remember. Bring another one or two in (assuming no more departures) and we should be fine.
We are down 3 from what we started last season with.
We let four go brought in 3
Other than Zin....Who have we lost and not replaced that will make a marked difference? We brought in 4.
We lost 7, from what we went into last season with.
Excluding kids, which we also lost a fair few of that had the odd bit of involvement around the first team.

Ah yes the goalie makes four in
7 first teamers out?
Jesus
Sterling
Zinchenko
Fernandinho
Who else unless you counting youth players who don’t play if so we have enough youth players to fill those positions on the bench..

This indicates two things:
1. We are likely to sign other players.
2. Pep takes the option for 5 subs in a completely different way than many on here, namely as an opportunity to cope with a smaller squad than when the rule allowed 3 subs.

Stones can play RB, Ake can play LB but guess what, play a top team in the later stages of the competition and they would be ripped apart, those are the games that need quality specialist players.Noooo. We are totally fine! Who needs more than 18 registerd players for a 60 game season. Stones can play at RB. Palmer.
I would say if Grealish is worth 100m , Dejong is about right and Bernardo should be 300mIf De Jong is worth 80 Mill then Bernard is worth at least 150 Mill.
I think the expression is ’whoosh’ ;-)Stones can play RB, Ake can play LB but guess what, play a top team in the later stages of the competition and they would be ripped apart, those are the games that need quality specialist players.
Totally agree with the World Cup situation, it's a unique, long and exhausting season, whoever manages the players the best will win all the titles.I’m not sure where this confidence comes from given that last season we actually had a good season on the injury front and still had to chop and change a lot at the end. Chuck in a WC competition in the middle and the players will be on their knees. If ever there was a time to bulk up squad numbers its now.
Maybe you are right City seem to agree with you!
Ive said many times it’s not that I disagree with City I just don’t understand it. I’ll just have to wait until 1st September like all of us…or the end of the season to compare our trophy haul!
Lost - Jesus, Sterling, Zinchenko, Mendy, Torres, Fernandinho, Steffen.
Added - Haaland, Alvarez, Phillips, Ortega.
Started the season with 22 registered players (including 1 CT), now have 19 including the same. With some of the same kids around, and a few moved on too.
Sure, Torres was let leave in January Mendy taken out the picture in October. But both were still planned for and part of the squad when the window closed, and the club made do with their absences. Going into the season by having to make do from the go by choice when there is money and space there to address it is another thing altogether. Once a LB comes in it shifts that a fair bit. Still bodies down, but if Pep is bolder with the kids (which is a big fucking if), it isn't unmanageable.
