Pep seems to like this 325 buildup in the system, putting one of the two full backs inside, doubt he buys two.

A proper LB or two would have zero effect on our current tactics imo... In fact, if they were lightning fast, overlapping LB's, it'd add a couple of new strings to our bow.

Look how many times Grealish has mentioned the lack of a rapid overlapping full back? Replacing Gundog with more legs in midfield & FINALLY resolving our LB issue must now be a priority.

While Pep is here the only specialist left back we will buy is one that can play in midfield too! They ain’t many of them! It’s a pity about Cancelo mindset he is top notch when on it…

Pep likes good footballers first & foremost. With the correct coaching a player who ticks the first box, should have few issues playing as an inverted FB, playing in a back three, or being a barnstorming, overlapping FB.

Essentially, we need a rapid, disciplined winger who can tackle. I was hoping Gomez might show promise in that respect. Hopefully he'll get the chance to shine, if not, we should CFG-him & get the LB we so sorely need.

Not a change to our system per se, but adding more strings to our bow gives us more options, not less.

Grealish played very well on Friday. However, in the second half, we broke from an Arsenal attack with Grealish carrying the ball into the centre-circle.

He looked left & right, & there was only Haaland on, but he had 3 players surrounding him, so Jack spun around & passed the ball back into our midfield, giving Arsenal time to get back & reorganise. We need that speed out wide that only a 32 year old Walker provides.

Also, I noticed Jack running centrally & veering over to the left on a few occasions. At some point (possibly in a lower grade home match), we have to try Jack & Phil centrally. For me, neither are the winger we need.

We've a need for speed & even though Foden is deceptively quick, I still think he'll ultimately be better centrally, as would Jack.

I could see one of the 8's dropping into the 2 in front of the back 3 asnd letting one of the full backs being hte widest touch line player

instead of the current

Plenty of options & permeatations there. All we need is the right personnel to be able to execute Pep's plans.

After this defining season & with rumours of dressing room discontent, I think now is the time to continue getting rid of the want-aways as we did with Sterling, Jesus, & Zinchenko, as well as the dissenting voices in the locker room.

It's time to reaffirm who the fuck runs the show at The Etihad...

Ake is a brilliant player and will give 110% in whatever position he is played in. However, we need a overlapping defender who will put crosses into the box. There was a moment against spurs when he had the ball on the left from a counter and Haaland and Alvarez were in the box and he didn’t cross the ball because he can’t, defensively great but a LB who can put a cross in from a overlap will create new problems for opposition
 
Think @twosips mentioned this but I agree with him..

I get a feeling we're going to get asked for the moon for a lot of our targets and we will walk away. Chelsea will overbid us for the obvious ones.

Can't have a Cucurella situation again. So I really don't see us getting MacAllister. FFS just look at how high they value Caicedo.

We're going to have to find some gems that no one is interested in but us.

It'll be a very interesting summer.

We may end up with Enzo, McAtee, Paqueta and Ait-Nouri.

I actually wouldn't mind that!
