Who’s buying Laporte?
Possibly, Jack mentioned that they liked Maddison but didn't do anything because no-ones left. As Phillips wasn't part of the bid for Rice...this makes no sense. It didn't matter yesterday.
We have players in the squad who will easily go on loan at the very least - Perrone & Laporte are prime examples. There's no real need to be constrained by squad size/limits at this point.
Apparently no bid, which im not totally against him being still here and we move Stones into midfield.

Jack Gaughan very good for City news and he’s spot on imo. Said earlier City will not be bolstering the squad numbers. Gvardiol is wanted regardless but the rest depends on outgoings.
And we have at least Perrone out soon. Laporte "perhaps". Gomez sounds like he wants to stay.
We don't though. There's loads of time before we have to declare squads and we can also loan people out.
It also wasn't an issue or concern when bidding for Rice. Even if they were thinking they would need to move Phillips on, they were being proactive with trying to sign Rice.
