was city interested in buying him? he extended his contract in may or june, release clause next year.

Very much a Pep-type player.

I'm surprised how many seem to be against it. He's much more of a potential Gundogan replacement in my eyes than Kovacic is. Although maybe somewhat surprisingly he just signed a new contract so it seems very unlikely he leaves.
