If he believes Cole Palmer can make up for the loss of Mahrez he sure needs to be playing/trusting him more than he's been doing so far.

I don’t think the Mahrez replacement needs to be a knockout signing for us to compete on all fronts next year, but it definitely needs to be someone with a more direct style than Grealish to complement each other. I’m also expecting more from Foden & Alvarez next season.

I think the squad was definitely 1 midfielder short last season though - unless McAtee can make the step up to start some PL games. I hope he can.

I keep reminding myself that Foden was out for large spells last season as was Phillips. I still haven’t written him off yet to be a useful player in the squad!

Agree on Palmer. Am sure that more trust will help his confidence. The lad has some real talent
