Best midfielder in the world for me. But agreed it took time. We have to allow Phillips time this season, he can only become a better player playing regularly, for his sake we can hope he impresses Pep in training and keeps focus.Rodri was absolutely wank for 2 seasons.

Remember the so called ‘experts’ judging our business when we signed him for £40m from a newly relegated Bournemouth? Look how far he’s come. One of our most important players without whom our treble would not be possible. I would even go far as saying him playing left back and showing his quality forced Pep to change the system as much as Rico/Stones did on the other side. It made him realise the value he offers in terms of covering space on the left and being very strong in 1v1s, aerially solid too.
He’s a major reason I’m not overly bothered if we do not end up getting Gvardiol. Gem as Josko is, he would learn a lot from our senior players, but even an understudy is not a bad shout who could rotate for Ake.
