It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

There's an obvious reason why this was the case in a treble winning season, where earlier on we were struggling for bodies & consistent form.

The opportunities were there. Pep evidently didn't think he deserved more chances than he got, & thinking about my disappointment with Cole's performances when afforded the opportunity, I'm with Pep on this one.
The opportunities to play in his favoured RW position were there?

No they werent.

He played out of position 90% of the time.

We are now talking about opportunities this season. And with the current injuries and outgoings the opportunity for many minutes is clearly there.

Well, Palmer has a huge opportunity to claim his worth for starting spot now that Mahrez is gone and Silva probably shifting to the middle after KdB's injury situation. No better time than this for him imo.
And thats literally all me and @oldius arw saying lol.

Im not sure how its so difficult for some to understand.

Not necessarily, but this season represents a different opportunity, especially now. The facts do say that he didn't really get a good chance last season. The reasons are only really known to Pep and Cole.
Lack of injuries hampered Palmer too as Pep has an established pecking order that only changes when someone further down does something better than someone higher up, or there are injuries.

Pep always says in press conferences that the hardest part of his job is benching senior players, so they are the ones that come on as subs, not the academy lads.

KDB’s injury opens the door a bit more for them, but only until backups are bought.

How so if he's shown little improvement since last season? Has the PL got easier over the summer?

We've the same pressure to perform & need the finished article, not to be carrying apprentices learning on the job, like we're a YTS scheme...
Another year of top-level coaching. A successful U21 tournament. Freedom from a sequence of injuries (2022-2023). The release of Mahrez, who plays in Cole's natural position.

Yes, and Cole's own injuries. The rumoured personal issues I am unsure about.
