So Nunes and Eze are 2 of the 3 names we are looking at. That’s 2 from the prem, maybe the 3rd is an overseas player that is the same calibre.

Doku was a target alongside Olise and Mitoma. Club always makes sure they have multiple targets incase.

That is my only disappointment this summer, as I thought he was the more impressive of our two lads at Sheffield last season, in a position where we are very light, with still a lot of upside, and could learn a lot by training with Rodri and Kev every week, and playing alongside them on occasion this season.

I love McAtee (closest thing we have produced to El Mago from the academy thus far when he is in full flow), but Doyle was the blades main man at the end of last season, including being their set piece taker, and his absence shows early on in their PL campaign.

There is a very good player there. But perhaps City feels he needs to play week in, week out in the PL to progress further.

We just don’t have an amazing track record of players coming back to the first team once they go out on a second loan, so it’s a bit of a worry for those of us that desperately want to see him have a long career at the Etihad.
