It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Is it 100% confirmed Bernardo is going in January?

I don’t think he plays in the same role as Philips/ Philips doesn’t play anyway.
Not Jan, next summer.

If we can get Paqueta in 6mths earlier to immediately contribute towards the end of the season and bed in before we have a disrupted summer with the Euros etc then its worth while imo. For the record, I know hes not at the euros but most of our squad will be!

Paqueta has proven himself to be capable of different things, he is no out and out attacking midfielder.
His stats are a lot closer to Rodri than you might think.

Clearly weighted towards passes, tackles and blocks etc. He isn't a goal scoring midfielder like Foden.

Having Lewis, Rodri, Kovacic, Paqueta, Bernardo, KDB and Nunes for any of those "central midfield" spots would be fantastic.

I agree with your last point and I think having those options would be great. I still feel like having basically 7/8 players for 2 positions is overkill. If Bernardo leaves I can see it happening

I dont think Pep can ever have enough good footballers and that is probably the best term to use them. They are all flexible, capable of different positions and intelligent in how they play. I wouldn't have any worries at all.

Has a player ever been forced to go to a club he doesn't want?
The point I'm making is that he is not definitely going despite the supposed release clause. If his choice is indeed Barcelona and they cannot afford it then he doesn't go (again). He's been leaving for the past four years according to the doom merchants on here.
