It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

It’s hard to find a fit for McAtee stylistically at a club challenging. Perhaps he needs to be sold to a Bournemouth or Brighton, but neither pay decent fees.

The top 8 aren’t likely to go for him. Well maybe Chelsea…
EIther that or selling to a European club if he does fancy a different challenge. It would be counterproductive if we sell him to a newly promoted club. Chelsea probably may have a little nibble but again with Cole Palmer clicking straightaway he may be in the same boat as if he did stick around at City.

Dortmund might be a decent shout abroad, but has he done enough to tempt them into spending £35m ish?

Not only Dortmund. There is bound to be another Bundesliga club willing to take a gamble like they previously have with our Academy players.
True, but for less money. At what price do we say that we might as well see what he can do as a squad filler, rather than only getting £15m or whatever?

Gvardiol/Ake
Dias/Branth
Akanji/Stones (into CM)
Walker/Lewis

maybe? can only see branth if everton go down, we'd be stupid not too if they are desperate.
Think someone would have to go for braithwaite to be an option CB play in midfield from time to time. We will also be looking at new fullbacks who might take time off CB who sometimes play there and we may or may not be looking at Kimmich who can play multiple positions around the back and midfield. Then Rico will continue to develop and can play RB and CM Kovatic has not played much he will take more minutes when fit

Palmer success will help with McAtee sale.
Clubs will pay bigish money thinking we 'make mistakes' and they will get a £50m player for considerably less.
Perhaps, but the sale of Palmer might be a good reason for us to keep him around the club for another season. We’ll know in the next four weeks how this season’s cards are going to fall, and we’ll then start to have a clearer picture of how our staffing/recruitment has worked and whether we need to think differently for next season.

Palmer was unknown really to other clubs. McAtee has had a season in the league that people can watch and analyse.

Plus, Chelsea are unlikely to be able to spend, so it’ll be clubs with smaller budgets willing to take a chance on him.

Palmer was less known but hardly unknown. As well as featuring for us last season and starting this season well, he’d also already played 15 times for England U21 and scored 5 goals. We don’t need to sell McAtee this summer, so I’d much rather keep him around and see if we can develop him.
