It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Just don’t think Frimpong who is the one mentioned is the right one for us.
Can`t make up my mind on him really. He`s more of a winger than a RB these days, and is very poor defensively. He could potentially have a similar impact as Doku did yesterday, but on the right hand side. His first touch, dribbling and press resistance also needs working on. Personally, I`d prefer someone who`s a little better defensively. Really like Livramento and think he would be incredible here.

Geertruida is another to look out for. Primarily a RB, but has also covered CB, LB and DM in the past 2 seasons. Very strong defensively, quick and physically strong. Resembles Walker in some ways, but he`s far better on the ball and has somehow picked up 13 G&A in the league this season. Only a year left on his contract and is rated at around 20-25m. One of the best players in the Eredivisie by far. Would make a lot of sense assuming Gvardiol is the one of the 4 defenders stepping into midfield/wide left, as Geertruida is more suited to staying back than Frimpong for example

I think summer wise most of the incomings are dependent on sales:

Outs:
Cancelo
Gomez
Phillips
Bernardo
McAtee
Harwood-Bellis
Walker (possibly)
(Nunes/Kovacic/Alvarez possibly)
Ortega/Ederson possibly
Couto

Should be at least £100m here. Hopefully we get permanent sales for Phillips + Cancelo.

Ins:
Savio
Bruno G
RB/RCB (Simakan/Diomande) my personal options
Another attacking profile Bobb can be new versatile profile gives us a bit more flexibility on who to recruit (Eze/Olise/Bakayoko/Olmo)
Goalkeeper (dependent on Ederson/Ortega future)

I do think there’s a reasonable chance that one of Alvarez/Nunes/Kovacic leave this summer. Think Alvarez in particular in a limited transfer market may be in demand. Walker I think might be time for him to go (or reduce his mins greatly). Bernardo I expect to go. Do think we need a little refresh of the squad and bring some new faces in. The likes of Foden , Doku , Gvardiol , Bobb , Haaland is the future.

Really like this option too. I do like Simakan very capable of playing as an attacking right back while being a natural centre back.

I’d love us to go back to the sane and sterling type style and with attacking type fullbacks? Ok them types don’t tend to be the best defensively but would love to see Gvardiol and LCB alongside Dias and say Alphonso Davies at LB and Frimpong RB?

Won’t happen whilst Pep is here. He’s adapted to have a stronger defence.

i think those that are so easy about leting ederson go are forgetting how much we rely on him for our playing out from the back.

I dont doubt that Ortega is the better shop stopper and maybe better at 1 vs 1.....btu he is nowhere near as calm with the ball at his feet..im not saying he isnt decent, he is, BUT Ederson is another level above and I think our defeders feel more secure with Eddie with the ball at his feet.

I get the love for Ortega...he helped us get over the line in the premiership there is no doubt about that but its easy to forget in those moments what Ederson brings and what we will lose if we sell him.

If Ederson wants to go I get that - its the same with every player (though its career ending going to the Saudi League and besides money Im not sure why he would want that at present) and I also get Ortega is too good to be a number 2 BUT if it came to losing one Id rather lose Ortega

Why would we need wingers if we had attacking full backs its one or the other!

Which unfortunately makes us less dynamic mate? We just can’t really create for the best number 9 in the world?
Football isn’t the same anymore. Video analysts are far better and every tactic used by every club is studied and scrutinised to their core.

What makes Pep stay ahead of the curve is his ability to change each season.

There is an outside chance that he decides to revert to 17/18, but he’s more likely to create a new tactic.

When people debate who is the best manager of all time, they negate to look at the technology other teams have to watch, study and recreate Pepball.
