It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Realistically, we should sell if Saudi come in with that money. I never really took it seriously as I didn’t expect Kev to be open to it. I thought he’d stay 1 more year and go to New York. But if he and his family are actually interested in it, then I think we’d be mad to not take the money. The European market outside the PL is dead, so when Saudi come in for your over 30s, it’s far too tempting.
Agreed but I’m more concerned how much money we need to spend to get half the player and there’s no one like him

All the more reason to cash in.

Foden is the main man now, so it's not like we have to go out and replace Kev like for like. But we will need to replace his goals and assists, so we'll probably need two top class players.

Whether that's this summer, next summer or later.

Disappointed with kevs comments tbh. How much money do these guys need? He has already earned millions and millions. He along with his kids will be set for life. Just pure greed
300k plus a week for at least the last 5 years and he still wants more.

If those quotes are true, sorry I would put him on the market now and pull in a huge fee.

100m for a 33 year old is money that can't be turned down.

I’ve learnt that we don’t need like for like replacements. We just adapt. Haaland is not like Sergio, Dias is not like Kompany, Rodri is not like Fernandinho, KDB is not like Yaya, Foden is vastly different to David Silva, Walker is not like Zabaleta, Grealish is the antithesis of what Sane was, the list goes on. So we don’t need a KDB clone either. Which is just as well, as there won’t ever be one.

Kev would be bettter suited playing in the MLS but again it still a too soon to cut him loose. Hopefully he still has the drive to play for City.
I do think San Diego is a lovely place to raise a family for a few years - great climate in a beautiful area; close to LA if you want something flashier, but a bit out of the limelight if you don’t. I know Saudi money is head turning, but most of these guys have more than they know what to do with already. I’m surprised so many of the wives would be willing to go to Saudi.

No disrespect to all the players mentioned above but kdb is in different stratosphere, he is a game changer and can grab the scruff of the neck kind of player

I agree with you BBP.
It’s all about the art of letting go.
KDB is or should I dare say was a monumental player but even genuine world class players eventually decline in standard.
I don’t have the answer when to cash in or should we let him go on a free next year.
We can’t replace like for like but evolution is where Pep excels.

Foden has shown he is capable of stepping up although we do lose another player who is capable of scoring from outside the box and his still very creative player. Kev is in physical decline so we have to seriously take that into consideration and he has achieved everything in domestic football. The only thing puzzling is I wonder if Vinny has tapped him up for Bayern.
