It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Whoever we bring in must be a significant upgrade on the last 3 or 4 midfielders we've recruited - Kova, Phillips, Nunes, and the fading Gundo. The jury's been out on Grealish since he came in too. It's not surprising that Cole Palmer wanted out - we never saw his true potential in the 1st team, and he must have been well pissed-off seeing himself as a rarely used sub and stuck out on the wing. Just imagine what he could have done for us while Kev's had long spells out in the last 18 months.

We thought that selling him was good business at the time - and Lavia; and Delap; and Alvarez, for that matter. Good money but no squad improvement for 3 years, imho - Gvardiol's decent on a good day, and so he should be for nearly £80M - but half the squad needs to change over the next 6/9 months, so please, let's start bringing a few in urgently on Jan 1st... and improvements this time!

I started a thread about this lad last night. Alan Nixon is the source. @tolmie's hairdoo obviously knows Alan very well. I also have an historic link to Alan and can happily state that if he is saying it then there is definitely something in it. This one has legs.

Didn't realise he's 6ft 5 at 18. Just looked at a few clips he's massive in defence, good control as well with the ball

I see the kid Gittens at Dortmund was with us a few years back. And Chelsea had 3 ex City players in the starting lineup yesterday. Sancho, Latvia and Palmer.

He is huge, but so elegant and composed on the ball. Obviously still very young, but I can see why people say that he has the Van Dijk skillset.
