When Pep is so so happy with his squad
Sarcasm really isn't favourite right now.
When Pep is so so happy with his squad
Really tough one this. Obviously we need a player or two, but who. At the moment I think this is what we're asking. Someone to come mid season, improve an under performing team, hit the ground running from the off and generally help lift the malaise. Going to be hard to get the right guy.
Totally agree mate as to that is what we need. Who is the big question.Ready made stars that will give the whole club a boost and show we mean business. Players with power, pace and energy, because that’s the main thing we’re lacking.
We need to start testing the resolve of clubs to keep hold of their players. We can’t afford to be ‘nice’ or complacent. Buy our way out, otherwise what’s all the revenue and net spend savings for over the last couple of years? Now we need our war chest.
I know our defence has been shite (and we obviously need players coming in there), but I’d argue more focus needs to be spent on forward players.
We only have Haaland (13), Gvardiol (4), and Kovacic (3) who have managed more than 2 PL goals this season.
KDB (2), Foden (0), Silva (1), Doku (2), Grealish (0), Savinho (0), Nunes (0) etc are all massively underperforming.
If each of those players averaged even just 4 goals each (at this stage, so a goal every 4 games) we’d probably be top of the league despite our shit back line.
Correct. Chelsea went out in January last year and bought Enzo Fernandez for £105m and Mudryk for £80m. The next summer they bought Palmer, Caicedo and Lavia for £217m. They gazumped Liverpool twice. They showed aggression and intent. Not all signings have worked, but they have been single-minded and bullish. This was all done whilst not having a shirt sponsor, playing in a ground with a 42,000 capacity and not being in the CL.Ready made stars that will give the whole club a boost and show we mean business. Yep, Sporting is the best example of that. We should have been 3 up at half time! And in several of the games lost recently, had we taken our chances when we were having a good spell at the beginning of games, the whole mood of the game would have changed.
Spurs particularly comes to mind .
