Branthwaite can't get a look in at Everton why would we swap Stones?

Gvardiol was a great buy. Had a v good first season. This year because of injuries we have heaped too much responsibility on him. If you think we paid what we did for him for a quick easy deal - you’re very wrong.
So quick to heap criticism on our young players.

I guess you and the other posters too are drawing wrong conclusion from my post is as well.
My point was ,we were not needing another high fee defender at that point of time. Would have been better to use that money to outbid for Rice or pay the release clause of Bruno G. Despite our winnings we too have to pay strict attention to PSR.

For me, Gvardiol is an excellent player but was a luxury buy at that point of time.
Not once did I criticize Gvardiol in my entire post, just our transfer policy.
Its not about Robinson vs Gvardiol, peeps! One is 27 and plays for Fulham. Its about correct investment at correct time.

Exchange for John Stones?

The only issue for me is he’s another left footer so more a replacement for Ake

1. He’s been injured most of this season.

2. Dyche thinks defenders passing out from the back is utter woke nonsense.

If we want a left back we should be looking at Leif Davis at Ipswich. He’s 24 but he’s been good in every Ipswich game this season.

Gvardiol is quality and for me is a far better left back than CB. He has too much skill to be on the back line and he looks like he lacks the physicality required.

Sign a CB and a RB and integrate Callum Doyle

RB: new RB, Lewis
CB: Dias, new CB, Akanji, Doyle
LB: Gvardiol, Ake

Preferably Livramento and Diomande/Schlotterbeck

He's been injured. He played the full 90 against Arsenal.

Working under a manager who expects you to get rid of the ball as soon as possible doesn't help. IF we signed him he could become another Stones - but we would have to accept a good year or so of coaching out the Dyche-isms.

Sounds too good to be true

The fact we require 4 players in JANUARY (Which is renowned for being an incredibly difficult month to sign decent players given clubs don’t want to sell half way through a season) is a damning incitement on how woeful the squad planning has been in the last two years.

Highly doubt that Everton will be open to selling him in January.

Like Newcastle with Guimaraes, they may have little choice. Whilst Newcastle have to sell to be able to buy, Everton might have to sell to merely survive. Their need to sell could therefore be greater.
