That is fair. Personally I'd only trust newspapers or social media as soon as it gains too much traction to ignore.

Makes sense, but the way I see it, traction is really easy to gain even if you don't have any substance behind it - just so long as you know where to look. A forum of people desperate for City transfer news? Sadly many people call that an easy target.

The court case result isnt until February. So I think its really naive to think a player with multiple options would sign for City in January when a month later everything could change.

I also think thats why your last window was so 'internal'. Bringing back Gundogan and signing Savio from the network of clubs.

Not tolling, just poinitng out what I see is a pretty obvious pattern.

bloody hope january transfer will not be on the level of Phillips, Kovacic, Doku, Nunes. we need much higher quality incomings than them.

we need someone we can rely on.

Those 2 shouldn't be in a list with Phillips and Nunes.
Kova is a proven International who was brought in to provide cover. Doku has plenty of talent but needs time and patience - something that wouldn't be an issue if others form hadn't fallen off a cliff.
Nunes is a really frustrating one, clearly a player in there but he's like a deer in the headlights whenever he plays

Looks at Liverpools midfield trio.

MacAllister, Gravenberch, Szbozslai.

All 3 brought over the last few years and perfectly replaced the Klopp midfield from before.

We simply cant sit back and our rivals strengthen like this as our squad ages away.

Now ask yourself what has City won over the last few years and what has liverpool....

My personal transfer list. Would be happy with any of these in Jan or the summer.

Probably impossible but Dumfries, Barella, Wirtz, Tchouameni, are players at the level we want too.

If we’re being realistic none of these are possible in January
