It wouldn’t. Most of the contracts will have CL clauses and we can afford a year out of the CL, especially with the profits we’ve made recently.

Maybe but think we’d get top 5 which would be enough but that may be a price they are willing to pay IF the players they want for a long term rebuild just aren’t available, they will take a long term view of it. Everyone including the club though will be hoping at least a couple are gettable this month.

Funny part is that Newcastle and Atlanta journalists both said they have not heard of any real contact and talks from City about their CMs in weeks.

The club will have plans for not qualifying, this is the premier league, no club apart from us have qualified every year for the last 12. It would be sensible planning to always be ready for a year out.
