It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

It wouldn’t. Most of the contracts will have CL clauses and we can afford a year out of the CL, especially with the profits we’ve made recently.

I personally think we will finish in the top four anyway.
No chance without at least a couple of signings. Look at Newcastle now compared to us. We won’t keep pace with them from here without reinforcements

Funny part is that Newcastle and Atlanta journalists both said they have not heard of any real contact and talks from City about their CMs in weeks.
Doubt they would hear, the first thing we’d do is approach players and gauge any interest in moving. We may also have very different targets than those rumoured on twitter and wanted by bluemoon posters.

Bruno and Ederson were targets confirmed by our mouthpiece Jack Gaungan. It is not X talk.

They are both under long term contract. City needs to ask club permission to officially approach players and some ground work like figures work permits thing need to kick out even before the deal is half baked. And clubs like Newcastle and Atlanta will need time to look for other targets if they let major players go in the winter.

It is very alarming to be this quiet.

Maybe but think we’d get top 5 which would be enough but that may be a price they are willing to pay IF the players they want for a long term rebuild just aren’t available, they will take a long term view of it. Everyone including the club though will be hoping at least a couple are gettable this month.

Best summary and how I see it.

Think we’ll end up third TBH.

We do need an extra body as cannot see the Argentine kid getting many games.

But, we will/ should wait for the right signings over the more panic type ones.

Personally I doubt we will make top 4 without reinforcements this month. If the club accept that then so be it we wait until the summer.
There's no scenario where the club can just accept that. Ignoring any other problems it brings, It's going to cost us around £100m not being in the champions league. It's not going to end us but it's going to make a significant impact. The number 1 priority for everybody at the club will be to avoid that at all costs. No reinforcements this window and we are rolling the dice on that being a reality.

So even if we have to pay ten, twenty million over the odds for our targets this month, it's still a complete no-brainer that saves us money and doesn't mess with or limit future plans.

Pep won't be happy with no movement in this window

Don't think anybody was expecting it but that should be what happens if we were being highly efficient. Had months knowing we urgently need reinforcements this window and have just a month to do it, there's no real reason why we couldn't and shouldn't have sewn up one or more signings before the window opens and it goes through first day. Women's team have done exactly that.
Let’s see what pans out but a month of why not yet will be tedious, already is on day 1 of open window
