It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Here’s the crux of it, Pep’s out in his own. He has enabled us to wing it, no left back or striker for years. The squad was already light and key players have left, ok to reserve judgement till September, but we can’t be shopping in Poundland for replacements. I fear the PR machine and looking good to a wider audience is making us too thrifty.
We tried to buy Rice! Balking at 100m+ is not thrifty but good business sense.

I disagree of it being legitimate because it addressed the two main points.

Scale and cost. We haven't been shy on either and anyone claiming otherwise, perhaps some can take it for granted when we spend £100m on a player, the overall costs involved signing someone like Haaland, even the indifference to paying £45m for a starting England midfielder.

City have never spent £70m/£80m on a group of players in one window because we haven't needed to - yet.

This summer we have gone £90m for Rice, £90m for Gvardiol, £30m Kovacic.

We aren't blinking because of competition, we have our ceiling for everyone.

Pep says we have plenty of business to conclude incoming and out.

I am not panicing with our kiddos yet since in 17-18 Sane, Jesus, Sterling, Zinny, Foden were kiddos. Perrone has impressed me the most with his limited time and still making an impact. McAtee pretty good at getting into the right places (has a bit of Gundogan's stealthiness to him).

But Philips and Cancelo sadly feel like the coming again of Mangala and Otamendi.

As much as you want them to get good.. one doesn't fit the team and the other has defensive mistakes galore in his game along with his venomous moodswings.

Hopefully we get our balance right in the field even if it doesn't appear on paper!

Any names apart from Gvardiol come your way mate? The team lacks creativity. Hope we address it this summer.
We will, certain of it.

Still think Walker might be waiting to see if Bayern get Kane over the line?

As long as they are the right players, I don't think we should care if it goes to the final day of the window.

Another creative, scoring midfielder, should be a priority over a winger for me.

Just my opinion but Kyle needs to be told, "shit or get off the pot."

Yea. He has been a good player for us but don't dick the club about. Either you are going to Bayern or you aren't. City has treated you well. Do us the kindness of treating us well now.

It was always going to be a slow summer for us waiting for players to leave.

Gone:
Gundo and Mahrez.

Likely to leave:

Laporte and Cancelo.

Walker and Bernardo still with a ?

So Kane staying at spurs would now be beneficial to us. Come on arry 1 more year -:)

Both should be priorities. Getting rid of Kalvin Phillips should be a priority as well. He is harmful to us going forward as it stands. The report couple of weeks ago that Bayern planned to go after him later in the window when it would be clear to him that he wouldn’t get many chances wouldn’t surprise me if it had truth to it. I expect Pep to have an honest talk with the guy.
I don’t know how real were the reports that Liverpool wanted him. The thought that we/him blocked it and then they end up getting Lavia instead is revolting to say the least
