It's Quiet 32 - enter at own risk

If that is true.....it shows we are ultra confident there will be no transfer ban coming soon !

It’s been suggested in other threads that the club expects a transfer ban.

We need to be planning for one in that if we get banned we couldn’t replace Silva, Fernandinho, Bravo, Delph or Gundogan (if he doesn’t renew) next summer.

We have space for 1 foreign player (assuming Sandler is loaned out and Mangala leaves) this summer, 1 homegrown if Delph goes.

It seems that Rodri (or another DM) will be the only signing we make no matter what. The rest at least somewhat depend on us selling someone.

A new CB if Otamendi goes, a new RB if Danilo goes, and a new forward if Sane goes. Can't see anything other than that, and would doubt that all three of them go.

I think it will be anywhere between 1 and 3 signings (not including signings for the future), with 2 being the likeliest outcome.

No chance, several signings with a 2 window ban expected in the next 12 months

How will we do that if we are also trying to keep the players we have ? 1 or 2. 3 at the most depending if anyone leaves.
In The next 12 months we will or could loose Bravo, Silva , Gundo, Otto, Sane.

And if Jesus is not playing more regularly I am sure he will want out.

With Kompany already gone, that's some possible squad depletion.

PS and with sicknote Mendy on the books and a rapidly ageing Ferna

So where do we park these several replacements for a year if none of those players leave this summer. Assuming none of those leave this summer the only one I can see us possibly buying apart from a DM is Felix and leaving on loan at Benfica. Any others will be one out one in.

You are right that any new arrival needs a corresponding exiting player, but the risk of a transfer ban requires City to take a critical view of its requirements two years forward. I also think Pep's management style will require refreshing in year 4 to keep the squad hungry, competitive, and focused.

The outs start with Kompany and Delph creating two spaces, and I expect they have taken a hard look at Bravo, Mendy, Danilo, and Otamendi (likely safer following Vinnie's departure), with Gundogan, Sane, and Jesus other possible exits based on playing time.

I'm hoping for at least three new players, but no more than four.

Best thing to do is enjoy the break from football, embrace the other things in life, get outdoors, trust that City is in good hands and see where we are when we come back at the end of August.
That's much too sensible. It's too tempting just to sit on here and keep pressing refresh.

The Yank (Zack Steffen) is rumoured to be going on loan to Fortuna Dusseldorf. That was according to a Tweet on City Xtra (I think it was them anyway).

Edit: just seen someones posted the same in his thread on here.
It sounds like maybe Bravo will be the #2 and the club is trying to get Steffen meaningful minutes in a good league. The season after next he can be Ederson's backup.
