It's long term thinking, kids like mbappe don't come around often. We are fighting for the best talent in the world. We are gonna be a frightening team for the next few years. A case of we line up at kick off and teams are already beaten ;-)

If so then massive progress on both fronts and your status cannot be higher TH, well done.

Real also have several other players to think about, Ronaldo especially in that any wage structure broken will no doubt see them also on the same if not more again.

It will be the same incentive stuff. Madrid are not paying huge wages except to Ronaldo and Bale. Even Modric is something we could pay without a blink. It's not hard to beat them on wages, they lure players with their name, most of them are on silly small wages compared to PL players. so I don't think the fact they didn't want to pay it means it's anything extravagant.
 
There's no saying his demands are financially linked. His demands may be starting certain games, playing a % of the games total etc.

I want to get excited for it but some people don't seem to grasp how much of a disaster it would be if he fails to live up to expectations or worse yet flops under the pressure and goes backwards. It would set us back years. Real could probably cope with it a lot better than we would, we're still growing as a club in so many ways.
 
Are we interested in his demands? You set them against the financial and footballing rewards. I am thinking about the footballer. Did we have this angst when discussing moves for Aguero, Toure, Teve etc?
