It's Quiet - a new dawn

We have to be so pleased with how things are turning out. I don't think we will miss any of our intended targets. Any.

I do and he certainly wants to, there is too much time invested in this not to make it a reality.

Wenger is the only hurdle I see.

Reputation in the media is based on the media, yeah.

This isn't rocket science.

As for public perception, I could just as easily link you to the tweet where Otamendi was announced as being in Whscoreds stats based team of the year and the torrent of people laughing at it - would that prove public opinion was against him?

Exactly it's not rocket science. My point is your claim that otamendi is "seen as a complete joke, an awful defender who is always about to have a calamity and a dreadful transfer" is completely naive and false because there are people other than city fans that rate him, to which i posted a poll from twitter over a debate between Alderweireld and Otamendi which completely contradicted your point. You chose to ignore that point because i proved your wrong and tried to be a smart arse about it but hey ho, whatever floats your boat.

So Douglas Costa is the alternative to Sanchez? Sanchez is a world class forward with a high work rate who could play anywhere in the attack. And would probably start most of the time over Aguero, Jesus, Sane or Sterling. Since he is either better or at least on the same level with all of them.

Signing Costa would be like signing an older back-up to Sane and Sterling. Who is just as tricky as those 2. But not as productive or good. At least in terms of goals and assists.

So it's either a back-up winger for the best front 3 in the league (IMO). Or we sign one of the best forwards in the world and have a front 3 ready to rival Barca's front 3.

Do you not think costa is like a more developed sane/sterling?

I think maybe we are underselling him a little here. A top player.

If you want to believe the consensus outside City fans is that Otamendi is a brilliant CB and has been a good signing, fine, believe it.

I think we'd all be disappointed if Sterling and Sané end up with Costa's end product at 26/27 years old. He was very good in his first season under Pep without really contributing any great numbers of goals or assists, but this year he seems to have regressed to the mean.

Business done by first week of pre-season? Hard to see it. Since pre-season starts in about 3 and a half weeks. You'd think Sanchez would drag on longer than that. Especially with the confederations cup. And possibly Walker as well. Given who we are negotiating with.

Mendy (if he comes).....you'd expect to be done shortly after the internationals. And if the reports are correct....we haven't even decided yet if we are going to sign another CB etc.
