We can't sign Semedo + Alves without having issues with our foreign player quota making the signing of one of Mendy or Sanchez impossible. On that basis alone I think the story is bollocks. Walker + Bertrand will both be City players this summer.

Could Semedo be an alternative to Alves then? Expensive, yes, but young and very perspective.

I'd like Semedo, and it does for all the world seem like Barca are prioritizing Bellerin, but there's too much smoke on Walker for there to be no fire, never mind the obvious complications we'd run into with the foreign player quota etc.

He isn't that good right now, Youtube comps are always misleading. Currently he's a vastly inferior player to Alves.

Semedo in, Kolarov out could make it work with the foreign spots. That could be a case of Kolarov leaving the club, or just being omitted from the CL squad and playing domestically where Sané and Jesus still count as u21.

I don't think it's ideal but I'd like to think they're looking at alternatives in case Levy is uncooperative. The man has a reputation for being unpredictable and sometimes unreasonable, so even if they were confident everything on the player's side was tied down, they should be prepared for it to go south.
